Great HRM with nice look August 30, 2010 H2 This is my 2nd TIMEX HRM. 1st one started actin up within a year from the purchase, HRM reading got very inconsistent, inaccurate. So I was worried when I bought this Road Trainer HRM. But I got a gread deal and so far it has been pretty good. HRM reading is accurate and consistent and small upgrad I found was battery lid of the chest belt. They place the rubber band around the bettery lid so that sweat doesn't go into the battery box. It does'nt have fany features but has everything I need. I would not pay more than $100 for this but if you find this at $70, it's a great buy.
Excelent August 17, 2010 Everton Easy to setup. Easy to use. All the functions works as described. I'm using for 8~10 miles runs, and the watch gives an stable reading all the time.
Not for training August 9, 2010 mz09 Purchased this product about a month ago, and I was originally pleased with it. However, after a couple weeks of use and more focused exercise, I realized this watch doesn't perform. Here are my pros and cons
Pros
-nice look
-easy to use
Cons
-HR strap battey life has not lasted longer than 2 weeks. I've already replaced it twice
-HR readings are all over the place. I'm in good tune with my body, and it has recorded my HR as high as 185-190 for extended periods of time. I've never been able to get my HR past 175, even during an EKG stress test
-HR readings are very inconsisten with readings jumping up and down 10-20 bpm in a 10sec period
Essentially, the product is not reliable. I've used Polar in the past, and was happy to move away from their products with the this Timex. Looks like I'll be changing back.
Excellent HR Monitor August 2, 2010 N. Becker Great watch. Funtions take a little getting used to, but I've had no issues that would warrant a complaint. There are multiple displays for showing current HR (full display, partial display, etc.), as well as different ways to display HR (such as percentage vs. actual).
For a poly/plastic band, the watch is very comfortable and doesn't feel like it adheres to your skin and actually becomes more comfortable as you sweat.
The indiglo light really increases visibility and when you're in a dark room, like for Spinning, you don't have to let go of the handlebars to read the watch; just hit the button.
I was surprised that no mating was required between the watch and the monitor band, but they just work together, straight out of the box.
Timex Ironman July 26, 2010 Edward Lupo (Mansfield, OH, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Of all the heart rate monitor/trainer equipment I have used in over 30 yrs. this monitor is to date the best.
Easy to use, all info is readable and programing is a "sinch" Using the monitor is simple when you understand the operations, read the supplied instructions. I have to rate the Timex Ironman men's road trainer/heart rate monitor watch hands up 100%. The price was better then retail outlets that I have visited.
