Timex Ironman Road Trainer HRM Watch August 24, 2010 Megan E. Higgins So far I love this watch. It is small and light weight. I love the colors and the capabilities it has. I can check how many calories I have burned while working out and see what my heart rate is. At the end of my workout I can check the total calories burned, my max hr, my low hr, and my average hr. The only thing that I wish I could do is keep a running total of my calories burned. At the end of each workout I must clear my totals before I can start a new workout. I'd like to be able to keep the information so I can see how many calories I have burned at the end of the week and how my hr has improved with each workout.
I loved it... August 3, 2010 Rdtrtle (Western North Carolina, USA) I really loved this HRM...while it worked. I've had it just a little over a month, and it no longer gives a reliable reading. I replaced the battery in the chest strap, hoping that it was just an old original battery, but the readings are still wildly inacurate.
My only original criticism was the algorithm used for counting the calories burned. It is WAY higher than any piece of gym equipment I've ever used, and told me I'd burned over 1100 calories in one resistance training hour--that said, I was able to adjust the weight setting to get a reading that was more in tune with reality.
I SOOO wish this had been worth the money for years of use!
Awesome July 27, 2010 Rastein (US) This watch is a perfect size-it isn't really thin and it isn't manly bulky. I LOVE the way it lights up as well. The numbers themselves light up instead of the entire back-screen which in my opinion makes it very easy to see. It is waterproof which is a 100% plus to me since I like to have a watch on me at all times.
This is the best electronic watch I have ever had.
The only con I have with it is really my own stupidity. When I am at a desk I tend to lean on the silly thing and it will beep but the plus side is that I kept thinking it would mess something up and it never has. (plus you can turn the beep functions off as well.)
MEN BEWARE -This is a LADIES WATCH - ITS TINY July 24, 2010 Johan agree with a previous reviewer. I also just gave this TINY little watch one look and returned it immediately. It is TINY - no man should be seen wearing such a dainty little watch. Gentlemen - order this tiny little dainty small minuscule watch at your own peril - I now ordered the FULL SIZE watch. Hope it will look as good as my Garmin HRM. My wife put it on and it looks good on her - she is 5 feet 5 with thin wrists - BOTTOM LINE - THIS IS A LADIES WATCH AND SHOULD BE ADVERTISED AS A LADIES WATCH.
Love this watch! June 11, 2010 M. Smith 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wear this watch everywhere. Running, cycling, golf, hiking, in the water (ocean and pool). Had it for about 4 mos, and no problems at all. Very easy to use--I was worried because I never am able to figure out watches--this one is very simple. Lots of great features. I use this mostly for the chrono/split, timer, HR monitor, and alarm.
I use the HR monitor only when running/hiking. The I read reviews that it is not accurate in the water, so I have not tried it. I sweat a LOT and the monitor still seems to read just fine. Pretty comfortable--I forget its there.
My only complaint is that as a lefty, I wear it on my right arm. I always seem to hit the mode button accidently with the back of my hand. Shouldn't be a problem for righty's.
It is big, but for working out this means it is very easy to read. I like the appearance, I even wear this watch when I am not working out, just because it is simple and attractive. Love the colors (I have the black with blue accent).
Overall great product!
