4 out of 5 stars wear it all the time   November 22, 2009
Steven R. Mitchell (Naples, FL)
I love this watch I wear it all the time I just wish it had a thermometer. The only problem I have is the crystal can be scratched easly thats why I only gave it a 4 star. with a scratch proof crystal I would of gave it 5 star.

5 out of 5 stars Best watch ever   September 12, 2009

The watch is awesome. I got it delivered on time and I'm very content with my purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Really thick but otherwise as expected   June 5, 2008
J. Kwong (Sacramento, CA USA)
It does what I expected it to do. I had gone to the timex website and looked at the manual, so I knew what I was getting as far as features. It is large and very thick, about half an inch, which is my main complaint. As others have noted, the numbers are yellow on a black background. Not the easiest to read, but it works. The band is green and a little stiff.

4 out of 5 stars Good watch for the price   June 3, 2008
G. Myers (North Port, FL)
This is a nice watch - does everything it says it can do. The compass feature is nice, but it depends a lot on how level you keep your arm. The negatives are minor - kind of a big watch and the strap is difficult to undo once it's on your arm. I would recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars So far, so good   April 29, 2008

I recently purchased this watch to replace another Timex Expedition T47512 that was well-loved and used. Though, I wanted to upgrade to this watch for few more options which my other watch did not have; such as the shock-proof, extra alarms, different time-zone settings, and a rubber wristband.

My previous watch was purchased mainly for the digital compass, which I used very often in both the city and countryside of Japan. I also learned that I used the alarm and timer often as well, and the Indiglo light.

This was a great replacement and upgrade. I really like the additional two alarms. The digital compass is great(like my old watch), and I like the added feature of a digital needle on this watch. The two different time zone settings is good for me to keep track of time differences in Chicago and Japan. I also plan to utilize the occasions alarm as well. The Indiglo light is bright and easy to access. The face is big and easy to read. And the timer is great, which I use often while cooking. I haven't used the hydration timer yet, but might use it as I start up running again this summer.

My other watch had a very comfortable and easy velcro band, but after awhile it would get funky from sweat and dirt. I would wash the band, but it was tough to get the stink out. Also, the little rubber piece which secures the band(like a belt loop) tore. This happened through everyday use, which is not a surprise. That's why I got this watch, with a sturdy rubber wrist band which hopefully will hold up to my wear and tear, and stay clean and funkless. So far so good. Though, it's not as easy to get on and off as my other velcro band. It fits securely though and comfortable to wear.

My last watch I banged around quite a bit and the upgrade with this watch for shock proof was something I was looking for. Time will tell on this one. It seems quite sturdy though.

So far, so good. It's bit bigger than the T47512, but it's not awkward. It's easy to set the functions and I like how the buttons are kinda "hidden" and do not protrude from the body(except of the handy light button). I am very happy with my purchase and it's a great upgrade from my previous Timex, which I really loved too. This watch seems very sturdy and will hopefully out last my other watch.
