Product Description This Timex Watch (but not any battery, crystal, band, or strap) is warranted to the owner for a period of ONE YEAR from the date of purchase against defects in manufacture by Timex Corporation. Timex will not repair defects relating to servicing not performed by Timex Corporation. This limited warranty applies to US Customers.
Amazon.com Product Description Keep your sports training focused with the stylish Timex T5E241 Ironman Triathlon multi-function, performance sport digital watch, which features a blue resin top ring sitting upon a metallic silver case and top pusher for easy access to split and lap times. Sport timing features include a 100-hour chronograph with lap or split option, 100-lap memory recall, 199 lap counter, on-the-fly recall of lap or split, and interval timers settable up to 24 hours (9 timers with countdown/stop and countdown/repeat). The training log stores workouts by date, with best lap, average lap, and total segment time, and the total run format/synchro timer maintains total activity time (less time paused during workout and overall running time. Other features include two time zones, built-in setting reminders, water resistance to 100 meters, and a black polyurethane strap. It incorporates the Timex Flix system, which activates the Indiglo night-light with a simple flick of your wrist. To activate FLIX, put the watch into Night-Mode by pressing and holding the Indiglo night-light button 3 seconds until it beeps. With the watch in Night-Mode, a forward "flick" of the wrist with a sharp "stop" will activate the Indiglo night-light for three seconds. The Indiglo night-light uniformly lights the surface of the watch dial using patented blue electroluminescent lighting technology. It uses less battery power than most other watch illumination systems, enabling your watch battery to last longer. The Night Mode feature allows you to illuminate the Indiglo night-light for 3 seconds with any button press, regardless of the mode or function.

Dim night light August 21, 2010 Jo Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Timex has two types of Indiglo night light:
Good: Face lights up
Bad: Numbers Light Up
While both types are serviceable for viewing the time, the good type of indiglo works great as a night light, the bad type is useless for anything but seeing the time.
Unfortunately there is no way of telling which type of indiglo a watch has from the Timex specifications. I assumed that this watch would be brighter/better than my broken 30 Lap Ironman. Instead it is 10 times dimmer.
The implementation of the FLIX system is flawed in that to activate flix you need to hold down the night light button for 3 seconds. Idiotic. The flick of the wrist must be hard enough that accidentally triggering the night light is unlikely; reguiring a button press to activate a hands-free system negates any hands-free advantage. I've had 3 flix enabled Ironmans and never use the FLIX feature due to the activation requirements.
Finally the bands on my Ironman watches all break after a year or so.
I've worn these Timex watches since the release of the first Marathon, and am on my fifth or sixth timex. Because of the breaky band I would like to stop buying/using Timex, however I can not find a replacement watch with decent interval timers that has multiple weekend aware alarms.
Good Product for the Price August 18, 2010 Ordinary Joe...... (Minneapolis, MN, USA) The T5E241 Ironman 100 lap Flix System watch is a very good value, easy to use watch for the runner who wants to track basic timing and interval information. Easy to read face; buttons are reasonably accessible. It is an attractive watch to wear for general use. Timex consistently puts out a reasonable product at a reasonable price; they take a licking and keep on ticking. I have previously used a Nike Triax which is no longer produced, this has proven to be a very good replacement. Since I don't swim much, I can't validate its water resistance other than it does seem to resist normal water exposure in the hot tub, rain, car washing, etc. I also use a Timex basic heart rate monitor that is many years old and it to keeps on working.
Great sporting watch July 1, 2010 Alexi Browne (Teaneck, New Jersey USA) I lost an expensive watch last year and finally got this one for my sport activities. All of its functions work well. The large numbers are great because this is the year my eyes have started to fail me a bit and it is still easy to read. For the money, it is a great watch......

Great watch for work and workouts January 22, 2010 St. Louis 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
As a Police Officer, I'm hard on equipment. I bought this watch about 2 years ago and love it. It has taken a beating and continues to work perfectly. The FLIX technology makes reading the display in low or no light easy with just a quick shake of your wrist.
Great watch!
